🦣 Behind the Tutu: Meet the Creator

Hi, I’m Allyson — author, artist, dancer, mountain mama, and the heart behind Mannie the Dancing Mammoth.

Mannie was born from a big dream (and even bigger feelings) right here in Mammoth Lakes, California. As the author and creator of Mannie the Dancing Mammoth, I wanted to bring a character to life that helps kids (and grown-ups too) feel seen, heard, and inspired to dance through life — no matter what.

I hold an MFA in Dance and have spent over 20 years teaching, choreographing, and celebrating all the ways movement can heal, connect, and empower.

Life is hard, good, and totally topsy-turvy — and my hope is that Mannie brings comfort, joy, and encouragement through it all. Whether you’re feeling on top of the world or deep in your feelings, there’s always room to move, dream, and feel with your whole heart.

Hi, I’m Tess, the heart and hands behind Tess Marie Artistry! The illustrator behind Mannie the Dancing Mammoth!

Artist, wife, teacher, and nature lover, I sprinkle sunshine, fairy dust, and a whole lot of happy wherever I go! I’m a professional face and body painter, and I also throw paint parties as well!

Color and creativity have been my lifelong love story. I’ve always been curious about how far I could take it, and I’m still exploring! My mission? To create art that makes people feel...to spark emotions, connection, and joy. I want everyone to notice the colors in their own lives and discover how to use them to express what’s in their hearts.

Bringing Allyson's vision of Mannie to life has been pure magic. This vibrant character and her whimsical world begged for a colorful, lively interpretation, and I’m beyond grateful my artwork gets to celebrate our beautiful Mannie!
